'The Boss Baby' Review

The Boss Baby – 6.5/10
The Boss Baby is an adorable animation film that brings an element that I think is funny to anyone in the world…a baby with a deep grown man voice. The idea itself is funny, nevertheless this doesn’t stop the film from dragging on in the middle, where there is just a bunch of sibling rivalry that you see in so many movies.
The visuals of the film is great, when the older brother Tim (voiced by Miles Bakshi) has his imaginative adventures, the abstract colours of the visuals is absolutely amazing and definitely caught my eye, but other from that, the visuals are pretty basic.
I’m a sucker for musicals so in the beginning of the film Tim’s parents sing him a song to go to sleep and it was absolutely great!
Something I love about animated films is when they secretly put adult jokes in that the kids won’t understand, but this film sort of lacked that, so I’m guessing that when many parents took their children to the cinema around 80% fell asleep.
Additionally, the voice overs were great, its funny when you recognize the actors by there voice, even if they try to change it a little bit. The Storyline needed to be a bit more full in the middle, but I do need to keep in mind that the demographic of this film was most likely 2-10 year olds, and I'm sure the film was great for them.
Finally, it really annoyed me throughout the whole film that the boss baby was just referred to as the baby, like the parents had him for at least 2 weeks and never even mentioned to name him, I know he ends up getting a name at the end and its super sweet but still, it frustrated me.
